I’m not entirely sure, but I think Levels has a few student promoters who can sell you tickets at a lower price. On select ticket sale dates, there is an additional discount. Also, at Penn State, there are student discounts for shows at the Bryce Jordan Center. Additionally, going to festivals might be a good deal because you pay one price to see many different acts. (My mom wanted to go see Enrique Inglesias, and the ticket prices were crazy.) I also tend to go to smaller venues. Although many of the artists I go see are popular, they haven’t broken into the mainstream like Katy Perry or Lady Gaga, so their ticket prices are much cheaper.

Second of all, people often ask me how I can afford to go to so many shows. I am not at Gesaffelstein right now for that reason. I hope that everyone goes to Movin’ On in 2015, and you may come to know some of the artists signed to the label of which I am a part!įirst things first, I hate how responsible and reasonable I am. This isn’t entirely relevant, but I do sponsorship for Movin’ On and business for Happy Valley Music Label. There should be no pointless “real fan” jargon music can be enjoyed however you like. Thanks to whoever has read any of my posts these past few weeks! Going to concerts and festivals is expensive and time-consuming, so it’s not possible for everyone. And yes, I did repeat a few acts from past posts. (This is Disclosure.)Ĭhvrches and Temples. When I go to concerts, I usually take videos instead of pictures, but here are a few good pictures:

He is awesome and actually knows how to DJ. Sweater Beats was good, although he reminds me of Cashmere Cat. (LEARN HOW TO DJ, FLUME.) GoldLink is a decent rapper, and I wish him success. Phantogram creatively used lights and mirrors, and Little Dragon was mellower but just as good.įlume dropped Pokemon cards from the ceiling, but it still doesn’t change the fact that he can’t DJ. Both were on school nights, but I pulled through. I saw Phantogram and Little Dragon in the same week.

I also saw James Blake, and I want to see him again. I actually heard “White Noise” performed twice. Disclosure’s bass was so strong, I was afraid I was going to pass out. BANKS is super talented, although I wish I liked her music more. Thomas Mars and Sofia Coppola are cute couple #1, and Mars is not afraid of getting into the crowd. I saw Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, BANKS, Disclosure, and AlunaGeorge, along with a bunch of other acts. Lauren Mayberry is really cute, and they’re amazing. Hence, I now refer to Jake as indie Justin Bieber. I saw Jake Bugg, and there was an older lady who was screaming about how he was better than Justin Bieber. Their song didn’t make it onto the album. The lead singer of Stars in Stereo actually sang one of the intros or outros for Kuroshitsuji, and The Redlight Kings did a song for one of the Iron Man movies. I saw Halestorm, Stars in Stereo, and The Redlight Kings. This is why when I see Katy Perry or Taylor Swift struggle to sing well live, I am just incredibly unimpressed.)

(Pretty much all acts I have seen were very competent live performers. (Even if you aren’t into “screamo”, I think they’re accessible enough that you might like them.) I thought all of them were great. I saw A Day To Remember along with The Wonder Years, Pierce The Veil, and All Time Low. I didn’t know them very well, but they were very good, and I was impressed.

I saw Foreigner at Six Flags for free one day. I also won’t tag this post with all the acts simply because there are too many. I’ll write a sentence or more on every act I have seen so far that I’ve mentioned already.

If it does, I’ll perhaps do a blog on music recommendations or album reviews rather than live music. I didn’t realize that this was the final blog post.
